How to Make Skin Look Younger

Let's face it. If you want to know how to make skin look younger, you need to know what causes it to look older. Most skincare products do not address the primary causes of an aged appearance, so obviously, they are ineffective.

The primary causes of an aged appearance are free radical damage, reduced production of skin cells and elastic fibers and low levels of hyaluronic acid. Chronic inflammation also plays a role. There are creams that can help wit that, but avoiding chronic inflammation usually means changing the type of cosmetics and other skincare products that you use.

If a cleanser burns or stings, it is causing inflammation. If you regularly use exfoliants or face scrubs, you are damaging your skin's health and this will negatively affect your appearance, as time goes by. Ingredients that cause allergic reactions in some people are not safe for others to use, either. The big cosmetic companies have gotten away with including known toxins, allergens and irritants for years, by blaming adverse reactions on skin sensitivity, leading people to believe that it's their fault for having sensitive skin.

Since avoiding inflammation is a big part of how to make skin look younger, you need to avoid ingredients that are common allergens, toxins and irritants. They include petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin, parabens, added fragrance, all artificial preservatives and all petrochemicals. The list of petrochemicals that are included in skincare products is too long to include in this article. The best way to find products that do not contain them is to look for all-natural ingredients.

No one knows why older skin has lower levels of hyaluronic acid, but we do know that enzymatic activity that breaks down the important compound increases with age. Extracts from wakame kelp have been shown to inhibit that enzymatic activity by 52% over the course of five days.

Many people have said that using wakame was how to make skin look younger and keep it beautiful. Now science has proven them correct.

Sorry but it will suck... the first day they will feel extremely tight, followed by alot of soreness... you may only be able to eat soft food for a week or so. the inside of your lips will get torn up. eating things like tootsie pops will rip your braces off... i had them for 3 years in jr high... teeth look amazing afterwards though

It depends on how many they are going to put on, some people don't start with the brackets on every tooth at first. It hurts when they are tightened. sometimes it cuts the inside of your cheeks, but you can get wax to cover the spots that cause the cuts. You can't eat, hard stuff, like chew on ice corn-nuts, things like that, its self explanatory.

Pain will turn to soreness which will all go away in 2-3 days. Take advil or some pain reliever. Takes about an hour to put them on. Dentist will provide list of food not to eat. They aren't too bad, and the results are fantastic.

Ok so usually I post really weird answers but I'm gonna help you cuz I have braces. I am gonna be completely truthful, they suck. It takes about two hours to get them on (bring an MP3) and even though they don't hurt right away, that night you will feel the pain. I suggest taking advil right after, or even right before the appointment. You can basically eat anything, they tell you not to eat gum, popcorn, hard stuff, but I still eat all that and nothing has happened. Don't worry though, the pain is really bad, but after a day or two it doesn't hurt any more. Good luck!

When you first get your braces on it will hurt a lot. i cried when i got mine because i couldnt eat pizza cuz it hurt and i wanted to rip them off. but you will get used to them. it also hurts a little when you go to get them tightened. i dont remember how long it took to get them on because it was years ago. but i like it cuz you got to choose the colors to put on them. your orthidontist might say ' you will have them on for a year' but it ends up being longer, so dont get your hopes up when they say 'the next time you come, you will get them off' cuz they usually change their minds. dont eat chewy candy.

I have braces right this second, and at first, they can feel uncomfortable. You get over it, though. You cannot eat anything really chewy or too hard, like carmel or carrots. It takes 15-30 minutes depending on the color and if they need to be on the top or bottom, or both. Don't be nervous, and the pain goes away in almost like 3-7 days.

They only hurt for a few days when you get them on, and when they tighten them. It sucks having braces but the result is great!!

When i got braces, it took them about an hour to put them on. In my experience, they are only uncompfortable after you get them on and tightened. But that pain usually last's 2 or 3 days. They say you can't chew bubble-gum because it might get stuck in your braces, but i do anyway..their full of crap. I really wouldn't eat popcorn because that is hard to lodge out of your braces...hope that helps...good luck

Ah, Braces. I had them when I was 11 until I was almost 13. It DOES hurt for about a month, the first 2 weeks will be the worse. After that it will be uncomfortable at times. Likely it will hurt again once your dentist (ortho.) tightens them. That could be every month, every 2 months or every 4 months etc etc. It ALL DEPENDS on how long you need them for. You may only need them for 6 months and you may need them for 3 years. Your ortho. will decide that once he/ she sees the process of your teeth lining up or not lining. DON'T eat anything hard...Such as a whole APPLE, CUT IT UP and eat it that way. If you bite into an apple it can pull apart the braces and you will have to get them fixed, ouch. Umm, DONT CHEW GUM. People do anyways when they have 'em, but you shouldnt. There will be a bigger chance of getting it stuck in your braces and not being able 2 get it out. It also could give you a cavity. I have had a handful of my teeth drilled, and trust me, you don't want that done. You can pretty much eat anything normal after a few weeks though, but brushing will become a huge habit (getting stuff stucked in your teeth... REALLY bad breath in the morning if food is still in the braces). Oh and when you first get them, you may live off of Jello, pudding, soup..(soft foods) since it will hurt to eat anything else. Once you have had them for about a month or two you dont really notice them there. The only thing I hated was getting things stuck in my teeth and brushing 2-3-4 times a day. But I also had 4 different retainers...now thats a biotch & gross!! Good luck :o)

My best friends and i all had braces at one point and we were known as the brace pack..in my experience..i wasn't too nervous about getting my braces and living with them because i was thinking about the long term effects..on one side i could have ugly disgusting teeth for the rest of my life or i could have a beautiful smile..the decision was of course easy...i did not suffer as much as my friends though..the braces were uncomfortable at first but you get used to them within a few weeks..eating becomes more difficult because you have to make sure to clean between the metal at every meal but its nothing you can't get used to..most people get braces and i have never heard of someone getting teased like what we see on t.v.....i know its cheesy but in a way its like you become part of cliche..your braces unite you with friends with braces...i only had pain once...some of my friends weren't as lucky..but in the end its all worth it ...when you could lick your smooth teeth there is no greater reward when you get that sweet smile

Braces -- well when you first get them on, it'll probably feel tight `cause your teeth aren't use to the tension of the wire [which is what causes the "hurt "]. then the inside of your cheek will probably get a "cancasore " type thing or w/ e ... but you can put the wax they give you over the bracket to let the sore heal. you can still eat everything really...it's just if you chew bubblegum it loosens the bands in the back. & if you eat hard stuff it might brake a bracket off. it depends how fast the people are at applying braces. have fun with braces!

I had braces for 3 1/ 2 years. At first the braces were uncomfortable but at time went on i got use to them. the only other times i felt uncomfortable with them on was when i would get new elastics put on and/ or when a stronger wire was used. that new tightness pain went away within a day so it wasn't too bad. Now you are not supposed to have any hard candy, pretzels, gum, ribs, corn on the cob, anything sticky, chew on pencils or pens, popcorn, and anything else which can stick to the metal of the braces or get stuck between crevices of the braces. It took about an hour to put them on. I didnt feel that uncomfortable cuz the orthodontist took a break every so often so we could both stretch. From my experience, having braces where not that bad. I found you will get your braces off as soon as possible if you are good about taking care of your teeth and your braces by avioding the foods not to have and brushing and flossing everyday. Oh, and flossing is a bit hard at first but they have a special type of floss for those with braces which make it sooo much easier. Good luck, you'll be happy with your results in the end.

Hey i just got my braces off about a week ago!! the first couple of days will prolly be the worst..it isnt really that bad tho. my dentist told me i couldnt eat ice, and gum. and taffy, but i ate them anyway. if u do decide to have taffy just suck on it until its chewy and stuf. for me it took about an hour and half. i dont really remember. but around and hour. once u get ur braces u need to brush ur teeth really good on ur gums and everything. if u dont ur gums will get puffy (like mine did) but when u get ur braces off, ur teeth look so cool. and then u get the retainers which i have now. i have hot pink and lime green..the retaineers are way better than the braces!! but just make sure u brush good and take care of them good luck oh and dont worry.. hope i helped! my email is tothewindoow@hotmail.com or XxHinderxX@hotmail.com buh bye muah!! ps to O's in windoow!! bye

It sounds like you may already be tied into your decision but if not I'd also recommend invisalign. They are invisable, comfortable, painfree, not to mention cheaper and take shorter treatment than metal braces. If you're locked into the metal ones, definitely keep some pain meds around, especially when you're going to get them tightened. It isn't extremely painful, but it is extremely uncomfortable. Depending on the type of braces you get will change what you can and can't eat. Stay away from gum and caramel definitely! Good luck either way, braces are wonderful and will make you feel so much better about your appearance once your treatment is complete.

Man i loved my braces! they were so fun! the day after you get them on will hurt like heck though. i mean it'll hurt..you won't even be able to eat a sandwich (i remember that incident) getting them on is really okay..besides that lip seperator..made me feel sorta dumb :] and you cant eat apples unless you cut them into slices...and i think it takes about an hour to put them on. oh and remember to get silver for your color = ] makes your teeth look really white PS: i ate all the stuff they told you not to eat..and a bracket neverr came off.
