How to Make Skin Look Younger

Let's face it. If you want to know how to make skin look younger, you need to know what causes it to look older. Most skincare products do not address the primary causes of an aged appearance, so obviously, they are ineffective.

The primary causes of an aged appearance are free radical damage, reduced production of skin cells and elastic fibers and low levels of hyaluronic acid. Chronic inflammation also plays a role. There are creams that can help wit that, but avoiding chronic inflammation usually means changing the type of cosmetics and other skincare products that you use.

If a cleanser burns or stings, it is causing inflammation. If you regularly use exfoliants or face scrubs, you are damaging your skin's health and this will negatively affect your appearance, as time goes by. Ingredients that cause allergic reactions in some people are not safe for others to use, either. The big cosmetic companies have gotten away with including known toxins, allergens and irritants for years, by blaming adverse reactions on skin sensitivity, leading people to believe that it's their fault for having sensitive skin.

Since avoiding inflammation is a big part of how to make skin look younger, you need to avoid ingredients that are common allergens, toxins and irritants. They include petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin, parabens, added fragrance, all artificial preservatives and all petrochemicals. The list of petrochemicals that are included in skincare products is too long to include in this article. The best way to find products that do not contain them is to look for all-natural ingredients.

No one knows why older skin has lower levels of hyaluronic acid, but we do know that enzymatic activity that breaks down the important compound increases with age. Extracts from wakame kelp have been shown to inhibit that enzymatic activity by 52% over the course of five days.

Many people have said that using wakame was how to make skin look younger and keep it beautiful. Now science has proven them correct.

Does it hurt? On a scale of 1- 10 my pain threshold is 0. In otherwords I am a big BABY. If anyone out there has had this procedure done, I would appreciate your feedback.

They drug you. You won't remember the procedure at all. The 2 main things to be aware of: 1- Prep: You will have to drink this stuff (Fleet most likely) that will "clean you out ". If the prep day is a work day - you need that day off. Trust me, you will become best friends with your bathroom on the prep day... like every 5 - 10 minutes. Your doc should give you a list of things you can ingest (like gatorade, jello, apple juice, broth, etc) 2 - After procedure: You will be gassy. VERY gassy. So whoever is going to drive you home and help you afterwards, let them be forewarned. The gas is from the gas they "inflate " you with so they can see better in your colon with the scope/ camera. If you are a little sore after (which you may or may not be), you might want to have some Tucks pads at home to help and maybe some diaper cream. But you should be fine.

They give you a very nice medication before the procedure - you won't feel a thing and, better yet, you won't remember a thing! The worst part is prepping the night before and having to drink that awful stuff!

I have it done every year. Here's the scoop...it's not the procedure that gets everyone, it's the prep. The day before the procedure you will be asked to either drink a laxative solution or take certain laxative pills. Do as the doctor asks. You'll be on a clear liquid diet. Avoid red and purple liquids so they can not give you false readings. Expect to be on the toilet all day. During the course of the day (the second dose of the liquid solution, at least the one I take) expect to feel sick to your stomach. It's just a major overhaul on your system. The day of the procedure...you'll be under anesthetic. You won't remember a thing. You'll go in, get in the gown, lay on the bed, then they'll give you an anesthetic, you'll then "wake up " in the recovery room. You'll have some gas and that's how it goes.

If it 's not broke, then don't fix it. and yes it is very invasive and can be very painful. does your Doctor take frequent trips ? he probably needs the cash. just be cause you are over fifty don't make you sick. what signs are you seeing that makes you feel like you need a colonoscopy, blood ,pain, why would you want the silver stallion run up your back side if nothing is wrong???? the world must be full of hypochondriacs

Lol I'm 13 and have had them since I was seven. It does not hurt. They give you medicine so that you are asleep during the whole thing.

If you have the full range of a colonoscopy you will feel nothing. You will be in a twlight sleep. The preparation is the worst part. You will be in the bathroom most of the night. Are you having problems that he wants to do a colonoscopy. I know most males over 50 need to fhave this done. I have had it done twice and both times there were polops.

The procedure itself isn't too big a deal. It's a bit embarrassing and awkward, but they'll give you something to relax you and you'll lay there and let it happen. No pain, and really you don't feel much at all once it starts. The worst part, unfortunately, is before the procedure. You'll pardon me, but you have to completely empty your colon before they can get in there. So this means drinking this nasty stuff, tons of water, and spending about 12 hours on the toilet having pretty horrid diarrhea. So there will be some unhappiness and discomfort there. After that, the procedure is a breeze. Good luck.

Pain is a 1. The only pain will be in the shot you get for the iv to be stuck in your hand. I had it done at 31 after endometrial cancer. The worst part was drinking the stuff the day before which made you go to the bathroom. Otherwise, enjoy a day of sleep! Ask for Xanax to help with your nerves at the procedure.

Had it. No pain. you are sedated throughout the entire procedure. However, let me add that the 24 hours prior to you procedure will be VERY uncomfortable. Take a book and a pillow in the bathroom. You won't get back to the other room before you have to go back to evacuate. After the procedure you feel great. But you won't believe how long it takes to clear your system of waste the night before.
