How to Make Skin Look
Younger
Let's face it. If you want to know how to make skin look younger, you
need to know what causes it to look older. Most skincare products do not
address the primary causes of an aged appearance, so obviously, they are
ineffective.
The primary causes of an aged appearance are free radical damage,
reduced production of skin cells and elastic fibers and low levels of
hyaluronic acid. Chronic inflammation also plays a role. There are
creams that can help wit that, but avoiding chronic inflammation usually
means changing the type of cosmetics and other skincare products that
you use.
If a cleanser burns or stings, it is causing inflammation. If you
regularly use exfoliants or face scrubs, you are damaging your skin's
health and this will negatively affect your appearance, as time goes by.
Ingredients that cause allergic reactions in some people are not safe
for others to use, either. The big cosmetic companies have gotten away
with including known toxins, allergens and irritants for years, by
blaming adverse reactions on skin sensitivity, leading people to believe
that it's their fault for having sensitive skin.
Since avoiding inflammation is a big part of how to make skin look
younger, you need to avoid ingredients that are common allergens, toxins
and irritants. They include petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin, parabens,
added fragrance, all artificial preservatives and all petrochemicals.
The list of petrochemicals that are included in skincare products is too
long to include in this article. The best way to find products that do
not contain them is to look for all-natural ingredients.
No one knows why older skin has lower levels of hyaluronic acid, but
we do know that enzymatic activity that breaks down the important
compound increases with age. Extracts from wakame kelp have been shown
to inhibit that enzymatic activity by 52% over the course of five days.
Many people have said that using wakame was how to make skin look
younger and keep it beautiful. Now science has proven them correct.

Question: Give me the 411 on braces?
(Posted by: yum_pokemans on 2009-02-12 10:31:05)
I'm getting my braces tomorrow and I wanted to know the details about them from people with experience. I've done some research on my own but so far I've mainly just found opinions from people who didn't have them. I got my spacers put in last week and they're doing fine. They've already done the mold of my top and bottom teeth, so I was wondering how long it will take them to put the actual braces on tomorrow? I know the ortho tells you what you can and can't eat, but could anybody tell me what they ate anyway? Getting the braces went great. :D Thank you to everyone for answering. They hurt a little bit, but my ortho said that the pain will wear off after a while. I can already tell that my teeth are moving. Here's a picture if you guys want to see what they look like: http:/ / c2.ac- images.myspacecdn.com/ images02/ 43/ l_696f9c2644224fa88861ff0fe697de21.jpg |

I eat anything, but I brush my teeth after sweets and only drink thinks (except water) with a straw. Also avoid fruit juice. It takes about 30-40 for them to put the braces on, and you will HATE them the first week or two. Then you just won't mind them or notice them. They're not as bad as they seem. |

I eat everything....but when you first get them guaranteed you won't be able to eat anything hard for a while...I lived off soup and rice for a month...the rice wasnt so good coz it got stuck and spinach just looks disgusting.....cadburys chocolate eclairs aren't a good idea coz it feels like they pull your teeth out....so yeah dont be worried...when the dentist tells you that they are gunna fix your teeth they do it to perfection!!! p.s. other tip is to make sure that when the dentist tells you to wear rubber bands (im assuming that u have to but you might not) then wear them cause it takes so much time off your treatment EVEN IF IT HURTS! good luck :D |

I want to say anywhere from half an hour to an hour to get braces on, but it's been a while since I had mine. They'll glue the brackets to your teeth and then thread the wire through. Because of the wire, you're mouth will probably be very sore for the next couple of days, so take pain killers and try to continue eating (appropriate) foods you normally do (it will hurt to chew!) The brackets may or may not irritate the inside of your cheeks and lips (my only problem was sometimes the end of a wire would poke me) but if they do, use the wax they give you. I had popcorn every once in a while and I was carefully with how I chewed so that wasn't a big problem. I wouldn't recommend eating/ chewing hard candies- I pop the bracers off some of my teeth doing that. Every once in a while you'll have your braces "tightened " where they insert a new wire. Your mouth will probably be sore again, but just take pain killers and you should be ok. |

Okay so before I got my braces my friends were telling me how it took them like an hour and 20 minutes to put them on. But after getting them on I estimated about 20-30 minutes. It must depend on how messed up your teeth are. Don't eat: Caramel Lemons Hard Candy Bite into apples without cutting them up Sugar Gum Toffee Soda You can eat: Sugar free gum Cut up fruits and veggies and anything else My suggestion to you is to really stock up on soups, apple sauce, icecream, and stuff like that. You will be super sore and won't want to eat anything hard. Get plenty of Tylenol and Canker Sore medications for cuts. And lots of wax from the orthodontist. The first week is tough. But eventually your mouth will get used to the braces and you will feel better. Oh and when you eat for the first time with braces (before you become sore) it will feel weird. But after 2 or 3 days it wont be so awkward to eat with them on. Good luck and tell me how it goes = ]]] |
