How to Make Skin Look
Younger
Let's face it. If you want to know how to make skin look younger, you
need to know what causes it to look older. Most skincare products do not
address the primary causes of an aged appearance, so obviously, they are
ineffective.
The primary causes of an aged appearance are free radical damage,
reduced production of skin cells and elastic fibers and low levels of
hyaluronic acid. Chronic inflammation also plays a role. There are
creams that can help wit that, but avoiding chronic inflammation usually
means changing the type of cosmetics and other skincare products that
you use.
If a cleanser burns or stings, it is causing inflammation. If you
regularly use exfoliants or face scrubs, you are damaging your skin's
health and this will negatively affect your appearance, as time goes by.
Ingredients that cause allergic reactions in some people are not safe
for others to use, either. The big cosmetic companies have gotten away
with including known toxins, allergens and irritants for years, by
blaming adverse reactions on skin sensitivity, leading people to believe
that it's their fault for having sensitive skin.
Since avoiding inflammation is a big part of how to make skin look
younger, you need to avoid ingredients that are common allergens, toxins
and irritants. They include petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin, parabens,
added fragrance, all artificial preservatives and all petrochemicals.
The list of petrochemicals that are included in skincare products is too
long to include in this article. The best way to find products that do
not contain them is to look for all-natural ingredients.
No one knows why older skin has lower levels of hyaluronic acid, but
we do know that enzymatic activity that breaks down the important
compound increases with age. Extracts from wakame kelp have been shown
to inhibit that enzymatic activity by 52% over the course of five days.
Many people have said that using wakame was how to make skin look
younger and keep it beautiful. Now science has proven them correct.

Question: What are the best anti aging supplements.?
(Posted by: Steven J on 2006-10-28 17:16:37)
I recently heard news that alpha lipoic acid is a great anti- aging supplement. I have also heard reports about a new supplement called resveratrol that has been found to dramatically increase the lifespan in yeast cells. Although going from increasing the lifespan in yeast cells to increasing it in humans is a huge jump can you give me any advice on supplements that have been proven to extend the human lifespan besides basic anti- oxidants. |

I have been taking Alpha lipoic for 9 years. I am now 39 soon to be 40.............I think it works well. One lesser known reason for such use is that supplementation with Lipoic acid helps to compensate for reduced intake of red meat and animal fats, (which modern athletes now tend to avoid), which otherwise happen to be rich sources of Lipoic acid. The Metabolic Antioxidant, Alpha Lipoic Acid neutralizes free radicals, protects the body's genetic material, slows aging, and protects against heart disease and cancer. During aging a protein called NF-kappa-B builds up in cells and binds to the DNA and slows DNA function. This leads to a weakening of the immune system, faster aging of the skin and functional impairment in other body systems. Alpha Lipoic Acid (and also glutathione/ reduced glutathione) helps block the binding of NF-kappa-B to cellular DNA. This results in a younger and less wrinkled skin. In animals, Alpha Lipoic Acid has anti-atherosclerotic effects. |

All Oxidants are known to expedite the aging process. However, there is no cure for ageing, all you can do is slow down the ageing of your cells (and thereby body on a whole) so that they look and work in a fine condition as much as they used to in their young age. The best way to slow down is to take more of anti-oxidants that are in the nature. Eating more of Vitamin C and E containing fruits and vegetables should help. |

Human Growth Hormone Enhancers are really good. They are the amino acids. I have been taking them for 3 months, and I lie not: they have given me much to be happy about! If consistently taken, you reap many benefits. I researched ALL products for over three months, and I learned alot. The HGH shots are tremendously high in price, only with prescription. You see, we lose HGH production after the age of 30 or so. I have been taking AL acid for about 2 years. It definitely has made improvements in my skin. I also take Hyaluronic Acid. Which is good too. There is WAY too much info about it...but here are a few really good sites.....21stcenturyhgh.com/ human-growth-hormone-faq.htm elanmed.com/ HGH.asp drlam.com These should lead you to many others. Don't get suckered, tho!! Most oral supplements, cannot and do not work. This is the latest and greatest in the health field, and everyone is on the bandwagon to cash in. It does work, but you have to be really smart about it. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. Please, go to these sites and find out. I am not a salesperson, I am just helping you to find the info (for all the people who get upset about links~ :-)....) |

"supplements that have been proven to extend the human lifespan besides basic anti-oxidants. " NONE. There are NO supplements that have been PROVEN to extend the human lifespan. Even the anti-oxidants, which looked promising, have failed when they were examined critically. (Vitamin E was actually found to be HARMFUL, which was a surprise to the investigators!) |

The best anti aging suppliment is making sure you get 8 hours sleep and eat a lot of greens -- everyone looks better than anglos because anglos don't eat greens -- try eating caldo verde on a regualar basis -- its a portuguese soup made out of kale and potatos. and SLEEP! you need 8-9 hours of sleep a night even if you think you don't. |
